It is using Boehm/libgc. Just a simple webserver should not have the described behavior. The GC is not incremental though, so having a big heap would trigger it. But that is typically not the case for the described use case. Likely the

It probably won't, because it is irrelevant. What matters is that it is clear beyond reason that VISA have a lot of power in the marketplace. What the courts will decide if they used that power to do naughty things to further cement th

The question is not how much better it is to pay by debit card than cash, but how high the margins are compared to the costs. If the margins are high there may be possible to improve the competition of the market.

You don't need a cookie popup for managing login sessions. Things that are essential to providing the feature don't need permission. At least based on the so called cookie law. There is also GDPR, but you'd typically agree to

Io uring have several use cases. You describe one, but it also enables things like no blocking file IO, which nothing else provides in a useful manner. Ruby can be slow in certain scenarios, but not slow enough that things like that doesxnt

It is interesting to compare the effort required to interact with C libs in Ruby and in Crystal. I wrote https://github.com/yxhuvud/ior a couple of years ago and it is roughly on the same level of abstraction as this l

There may be, but now you are assuming energy is what is needed and not the hydrogen itself. Hydrogen is used in lots of industrial processes and is really hard to store in bulk.

While I think of things in a defined order, I also think in sets. If I grab a bunch of peanuts, I don't visualize grabbing every single peanut one by one, I visualize getting a bunch at the same time.

In my experience it is not the amount of tabs that is the problem but that certain tabs (ie reddit) sometimes start to misbehave and eat way too much, so I tend to list the tabs by memory usage and handle it on a by tab-basis.

What needs to be pointed out is that the rent and spread is the same thing in this equation. Before the rise of HFT actual people performed these functions, and then the spread/rent-seeking was a lot higher.
