Not the person you're asking, but I use nix on my MacBook and ditched brew after a few weeks. The main draw for me was that I was already using home-manager on NixOS, and being able to share the same config on macOS was pretty compelli

I personally think the odds are pretty good that Asahi ends up supporting the M1 series longer than macOS. Apple isn't shy about cutting off support for old hardware; the current version of macOS won't run on any machine more than

Perhaps the author assumes that a child with a deep interest in rust Unicode edge cases has likely been on the internet before, and may well have been exposed to the existence of sex?

Can you meaningfully compare revenues for an illegal class of products to a legal one? It also doesn't follow that the money spent on either class is evenly distributed across the population.

You can run i3 via WSL if you use an alternate X server like X410 or vcxsrv instead of the built-in wayland RDP bridge thing. vcxsrv is a bit nicer, since it lets you run the X display in fullscreen mode.

Hmm, my edit below erased my original comment, as I wasn't paying attention... Anyway, the gist is that NixOS runs great in Parallels, using the patched parallels-tools module from this nixos config: https://github.com/

I run NixOS in Parallels, and it's super nice. I copied a config from https://github.com/wegank/nixos-config/tree/main/hardware/pa... for an updated parallels-tools package, for things like cop

I'm hoping that we see more reflective LCD displays in the future. There's a 32 inch 1080p panel by Sun Vision that seems pretty remarkable, but I'm holding out hope for more pixel density, etc. If you haven't seen it, t

An article from 2020 [1] claims that they had "32,000 linux computers" in orbit. At that time they had 480 satellites in orbit, so ~66 "computers" per satellite. That would put us at about 180,000 computers today. [1]:

The “god as first cause” argument feels like a stack overflow. It’s just what happens when you infinitely recurse a cause and effect chain. If you don’t want to spend rest of your life evaluating it, you eventually just give up and `throw n
