Is PHP still unhelpful when it comes to writing secure code? I remember when escaping SQL input data was "the correct way" to use your mysql database. Parametrization? Nah, just use mysql_escape_string or whatever it was called.

When you think of old phones, think of the touch interface on a printer. I don't like Apple either, they are DEFINITELY rent seeking and violating their users' privacy at the same time. There is no excuse for that. I think what th

Even when the so called "ad-pocalypse" happened, this wasn't as big of an issue as it is today. What's going on with Google being extra stingy seems to correlate well with the AI boom (curse). I suspect there are compani

If there is a kernel level feature to throw sections of a process memory into other namespaces then yes, that may work. If you mean running a xen hypervisor for sqlite.so, then no thanks.

This is a really good post that people should reflect on. There is something particularly dark and unjust about supporting the persistance of tyranny through the blaming of (solely or not) those who defend themselves.

Lots of private companies do not want to be forced to pay Apple and Google a hefty chunk of their earnings either. That's what drove Epic Games and Spotify to fight Apple.

What advice? I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean that there is no valid use-case where you wish to interrupt a blocking thread due to I/O, for example? Or maybe you think Python can do that. Maybe I'm wrong, but as far as

No, because you can't kill a Python thread, but you can kill a process. That is a significant limitation to think about, especially when executing something long-running and CPU intensive such as large scientific computations. If your

This is not about individual network operators making the choice by themselves, rather they are many times compelled to do so by law. This is partucularly problematic when it comes to mobile services as they allow people to be tracked.
