Kickstarter is often basically a group buy. Project owners make MVPs and market/pitch it, get funding from the public, and then commission a large batch run.

Agreed on the cat mouth/butt contamination. But I wouldn’t compare a litter box to the toilet flush. At least the toilet ensures most of the feces (save for the particles you’re talking about) is sent away.

My view is that legalization is only occurring due to their greed for the sweet sweet tax revenue it brings to the government.

Yeah, the way people handle pet feces is quite frankly very concerning. How are they ok with cat litter full of feces just lying around for hours inside their home, especially during winter?

Not one of your comments amidst this sprawling thread has a single positive fact in it. You’re blindly arguing “nuclear bad” and claiming that nuclear PPAs amount to nothing based on zero evidence? The ones we’re all discussing are the firs

Look, I agree that nuclear is difficult, but Google and Microsoft have publicly committed to those projects you’re mentioning. I don’t understand your dismissive tone that all of it is hogwash? This is one of those HN armchair comments.

I’m not sure of any company that blindly allows software like Cursor, that explicitly uploads code/embeddings to their servers.

This is one of the most toxic blogs I’ve ever read - so much swearing, vile hate while criticizing various persons they dislike, rambling incoherence. Wow. And their specific criticisms of the contributor this post is discussing, are very m

Why would you assume single digit extra calls? If the list is N million, then you would do a constant multiple of iterations of that. That’s a non trivial overhead in production applications.

AFAICT this should filter in one pass, so it would be faster than multiple lambdas, or this plus a lambda for numeric.

Doesn’t even matter, because stablecoins are basically acknowledging that all of the crypto tech is a farce and all you need is a digital currency tied to IRL currencies.

Yes, absolutely. But that’s exactly the problem. What is crypto - currency, investment, technology, religion? Apparently for all the crypto people I know, it’s somehow all of the above.

If a government “says”? These large companies actively campaign, draft, and lobby for the legal frameworks and loopholes that they exploit. The government and the companies are the same and are fighting for the same pot of tax money.

Honestly, I’m not sure. I find the premise of such tax laws to be illogical at a basic level. There are apparently always multiple ways to create legal loopholes. If we consider the Irish sandwich mechanism that was recently “stopped”, some

Literally every single company that can afford to setup things like tax transfer schemes, are actively evading taxes. It’s mind boggling how widespread it is, how accepted (legal) it is, and how it will seemingly never be fixed. https:&#

I’ve heard of exactly these “vulnerability sharing” exercises from colleagues, but luckily have not experienced it myself. Anyone starting to over-share becomes very problematic, because it forces everyone to conform. One of my colleagues d
