I would recommend FreeBSD if you were going to try one of them. The BSD experience a bit like using linux was like 15 years ago. Online DRM for sites like Netflix will not work for example. Specifically in the case of FreeBSD the filesystem

I agree generally with the diagnosis here. Although I disagree with the notion that a more equitable society is a silver bullet for reducing human misery. Firstly, in terms of social media I doubt that misery would ever stop commanding peop

I don't understand why rust integration doesn't happen on a fork, especially for important packages like this. I'm sure people would elect to use py-cryptography-rust and it woule avoid an open-goal from people looking to sei

I never used emojis in my private life until I started working as a software developer. I end up using them all day, everyday on Slack at work and now they have bled into my vocabulary everywhere.

I work in digital advertising analytics and we do try to mitigate the repeat customer phenomenon the author mentions. Typically we only record the first web visit from a household during the campaign window for example.

This is a really old debate in psychiatry. My father studied it in the 70s and said that the establishment of his day were suspicious of all medications and all the academic literature suggested drugs should only be used as a last resort. T

Thought provoking article. I am not convinced that the correlation of drug liberalization and deaths is sufficient to say there is a causation. However, I do agree with the author's main point that policy should not be dictated by ideo

I always recommend nano to juniors if they need to edit config files on their local environment. Being able to use a CLI editor is an essential skill but there is no need to make it complicated.

Any logical argument which is inductive is technically fallacy. The way people use the phrase "fallacy" as a checkmate in online discussions, but this ignores the fact that all empirical study is fallacious strictly.
