The thing I really dislike is how the US economy is based on credit and consumption. The Federal Reserve probably basically regulate how fast money is printed so it has value, which is then often used to import goods from for example Japan

Looks like their argument is that "We don't need ads that are personal. You can just get ads that are based on location."

Yea, basically the demand for goods from China is fuelled by increasing US and other debt, which increased the value of the yen too. In the 1970s and 1980s when US first got off the gold standard it was Japan I think.

Thinking about it, the entire US economy has been about increasing consumption and credit since the 1970s.

The US economy has been based on debt since the 1970s. The more debt increases, more goods gets imported from other countries. One other important debt is government debt, which was one of the reasons we got off the gold standard in the fir

Thinking about it, if the US economy was still on the gold standard in the 1970s, it probably would have been declined when Japanese cars and other goods took over and would be very different by now. As a side note, one of the reason we got

They are often based on lower density DDR3 chips that consume more power per bit. That being said you can do 1TB on a normal dual socket server with 64GB DDR4 LR-DIMMs for a while now, though they do come at a cost per bit premium.

I think even 128GB RDIMMs using TSV and 8Gbit DDR4 is expensive at this point. Interestingly, I have not even seen any 16Gbit DDR4 announcements.

The fun thing is that the 802.3bz standard don't refer to Cat5e or Cat6 but describe the requirements in the standard itself. I wonder if this is due to marketing, for example see Kamal Dalmia's comment in: http://www.a
