To add to this: the original 32-bit SYSCALL/SYSRET in AMD K6 just changed EIP and cleared a few flags too, and they "fixed" it for 64-bit by providing a mask of flags to clear and adding SWAPGS: http://web.archive.

This really should have "(virtual 8086 mode)" in the title.

I think this is just a bug though. But yes, I have been thinking of creating a new version of x86 that drops things like segmentation, real mode, virtual 8086 mode, and 16-bit protected mode.

It can affect 32-bit guest OSes running on 64-bit hosts, and that is how they discovered the bug.

I hope that recompiled desktop apps will be allowed in addition to emulation.

Thinking about it, we are lucky that Debian used Gandi instead of StartCom too.

I think this is why it was chosen in the first place.

AFAIK, it was called ".NET Passport" a decade ago, meaning almost all of them are Microsoft Accounts.

The same thing happened to "Outlook" for Mac.

I am trying to figure out what the problems are with Google Analytics anyway.

In fact, I think JWT is probably a classic example of non-cryptographers combining multiple proposals with different use cases into one standard. The others such as JWS and JWE are not as flawed.

And it is not like even AES-CBC + HMAC is particularly hard to write. (you should remember to encrypt-then-MAC or even better use AEAD these days)

The point however is that JWS/JWE is not as flawed as JWT is.

Notice that they did not include JWT in this!

Yea, I think you are probably referring to how i820 RDRAM boards had to be limited to two slots. This kind of signal integrity issues is not limited to RDRAM.

They now have bought Inphi's memory buffer business I think. Of course, this is long after they give up on even XDR DRAM.

I have been thinking that probably most likely vaccines can appear to "cause" autism, but only if there is things like leaky gut.

I think a compromise to cut US federal taxes to something like 25% is most likely and what I would recommend.

There still seems to be much confusion about the relationship between PSP and DASH (AMD's version of AMT).

I think they even excluded iLO when they locked down firmware updates to paid customers just after https://lkml.org/lkml/2013/11/11/653 (they are the one who ported UEFI to RISC-V too!)

Anyone BTW remember the thick 1MB SIMMs based on DIP chips that was common before DRAM prices declined in 1989?
