What I also noticed is they made both 1Gbit and 2.5Gbit Ethernet compatible with Category 5 cables from the 1990s. Even the difference between Cat5 and Cat5e are quite minor.

Anyone remember the Access 2003 conversion toolkit? The conversion from Access 97 to Access 2000 was originally designed for developers, not conversions of large number of databases by end users.

I believe that early AMD64 was limited to 40 bit addressing, and until about 2007-2008 anything Intel-based other than Xeon MP was limited to 36 bit.

I believe splwow64.exe is used for printing from WOW64 processes, to allow 64-bit printer drivers to be used.

AdWords dates back to 2000-2001. At the time they IPOed in 2004 they had 90%+ of revenue coming from advertising. They didn't adopt cookie based tracking (DoubleClick) until the 2007-2008 recession: https://en.wikipedia.org&

@MalwareMinigun is Billy O'Neal BTW. I have a Wikipedia article about this topic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Upgrade_Readiness Appraiser not only consumes CPU (and HDD/SSD!) time, but is also technic

The politics between Windows and DevDiv are just as interesting as well. For example it was @malwareminigun (used to work on MSVC compiler team) on Twitter that complained about the CPU time that CompatTelRunner consumes (mostly by Appraise

I believe that this only works on MS-DOS 7.0 and later versions, which had to implement a workaround for SFT scanning code in Windows 3.1 KRNL386 (still used in mini.cab in Windows 9x Setup) to support this.

The net loss for Google in 2000 does not seems to be that high: http://web.archive.org/web/20110709150010/http://www.sec.gov... There was nothing wrong with AdWords in terms of privacy in 2001, but Larry

I am thinking that forcing tens of thousands of employees to show up at office buildings and live in apartments is somewhat ridiculous, especially considering issues like food. Duplexes and fourplexes are probably a good compromise.

This reminds me of the Street View Wi-Fi gathering privacy scandal. And yes I suspect that it is not cheap, especially during the 2007-2008 recession when gas was expensive. To cover one city probably require hundreds of miles of driving.

I dislike the current debt-based economy that depends on extracting more money from consumers anyway. Student debt and universities is a good example of the problems. You can also see this in things like textbooks.

I think part of the problem is how the current debt-based economy works. Many of the goods big box stores sell are often imported, and these stores often look for the cheapest imported good they can sell. You can also see this with Amazon t

I am thinking of things like the ad bubble, for example when Google bought DoubleClick. Housing is a good example as it is a finite resourse.

I am thinking deeper than that. I dislike the current debt-based economy for a reason. Google is a good example in which housing prices and other expenses increases every time the revenue increases.
