The real problem here is how index funds are directed. 3 firms - Blackrock, State Street and Vanguard, control at least 25% of the board seats in almost every Fortune 500 company because when you put your money into an index fund (which is

This isn't true in the US thanks to the vast public library system, coupled with interlibrary loans. Any child can get access to any book for free. School libraries aren't required to carry every book.

I agree, but the sad reality is that the reason the tech industry is as heavy handed on spying as it is, is because the people who work in tech want it that way. Despite their protestations, there is a lot of god complex in the industry s

I'm comfortable being on the other side of the argument from anybody who says biological sex exists on a spectrum and compares the number of sexes to the set of complex numbers. As to gender, well then it sounds like you're just

This doesn't even read like an answer to my comment. I am genuinely curious, how many genders are there? And what are they, and who determines what constitutes a gender?

Not sure I agree about the right being more likely to deny science, considering the way discussion around gender seems to work. I'm still trying to find out just how many there are, but nobody knows. Of course, we're not allowed t
