I’ve been using Duolingo to restore my limited knowledge of Japanese and worked pretty well. I managed to keep a two month every-day habit, but collapsed as soon as I skipped few days — there’s something to learn about too much aggressive g

It’s an extension to a language. Would you call generics a language? Is TSX a different language from TypeScript?

There are some issues here and there (JSX is not a language!) but this is definitely a very good comparison. It is indeed a little bit too shallow (give animations! Full app navigation stack management!) but gives practical insights. Props

Years ago when I was trying to clone Firefox’s and Chrome’s code bases WebIDL capabilities in order to simplify native bindings in Titanium SDK, I would have killed for such an article. Very interesting!

The design of the maps is terrible, the content is gold. Will recommend internally in my company. Very nice job.

You are indeed right. If I wasn’t on mobile I would have searched for an alternative URL, in my ingenuity I thought to give some community service by anticipating the downtime to users that read comments first(as I do)

Engineers tend to misuse “minimalist” when they mean “brutalist” or “spartan”. Minimalist in the code doesn’t reflect on minimalism on the interface, and when you apply an adjective to the description of your product you are characterizing

It has always been an iOS best practice to keep object sizes so that half an item visible if an area is scrollable, so to let the user know there’s more below the fold. Since the first iPhone I never found them breaking this guideline. Not

If you read other insiders’ comments here you can notice that this is not the case at all. Under Jobs the Mac OS team was more open and collaborative, so probably this happened “by chance” and the death of Jobs was probably a force toward c

By the way, I always maliciously infer that this is the actual depth of the understanding of the author. You just grasped some very high level concepts and have a very pratical knowledge of lower level details — but just chaos in the middle
