I have to clarify that I should have said ‘enough’ :) And ‘ethical’ could be not the most accurate term for this but here’s my take on this. In the scientific world there’s so much closed software, so much closeness. A real revolution (and

Interesting, but not ethical. This wants to be the scientific version Google Docs? Well, have a good fight with http://substance.io/ which is 1) opensource 2) very well implemented 3) has a broader vision 4) 5 years ahead

I’m pretty sure most of the other comments are pointing to what I‘m going to say too, but I have to put this out of my mind. This video, while hilarious, puts the ‘expert’ not in a good light. It is in fact true that the ‘customer’ is talki

Gosh. I’m really upset not by the news about Eich as the new CEO, but about learning that such an idol in my life is anti-LGTB. I really hate this kind of situations.

I work at SMC, Italy. This is the way we want work to be done, and that’s the goal (sport-pun intended) every one of us has every morning. There are exceptions, both solitary peers and solitary periods, but that’s what they are: exceptions.

I still don’t understand why no one does `child.__proto__ = parent;` to inherit properties on the constructor chain too.

Did you had a look at [gorillascript]( http://ckknight.github.io/gorillascript/ )? Its [prelude]( https://github.com/ckknight/gorillascript/blob/master/src/js... ) is written in go

I teach JS. I use a a stronger one: var func = function func(func) { var func; console.log(typeof func); }; function func(func) { console.log("func"); } func("func");

We're not talking about that kind of variables. CSS ones are a dynamic, inherited, cascaded (is that a word?) set of vars.

As read on other comments: preprocessor variables have nothing to do with this kind of variables. Read the spec, they're a very powerful tool.

You cannot build a polyfill with full feature-parity with the sole CSS. How do you manage the following one: a:link { color: var(main-color); } .important-quote { var-main-color: red; } /* <div class="important-q

Options: - use only variables, and put `body { background: #eee; color: #333; }` so this is the 'fallback' - prepend a fallback style: `color: red; color: var(main-color);` - use a css preprocessor to mangle all the things -- some

Just to clear things: Pixate is a native framework (iOS, and Android coming soon) which let you style your application using CSS. Their ability to execute is awesome and they're moving at the speed of light. And with Titanium SDK suppo

My 2 cents: add padding around the top left image/icon/logo so it matches the columns padding of the layout.

Not exactly poll. Use scroll events to start your polling; after the second time your loop function doesn't find a change in the scrollTop, stop requesting frames. Even without this guard, with just the `old !== getScrollTop()` it does

My two cents. You'll never be able to match the scroll smoothly listening for scroll events. Use requestAnimationFrame and listen for changes in window.scrollTop.

We're probably going to see some declination of the parasitic inheritance in the next parts, none-the-less this article has been a good read. You don't find a lot of real JS article these days.
