I also wanted to point out that it would be easy to use something like twisted to write an IRC or XMPP gateway to a specific matrix server. Then you can utilize a common IRC or XMPP client (though message ordering might be a major issue in

This is absolutely the type of system I've been hoping for for quite a while. I even started drafting up a spec to build it. I wanted a federated, http based message passing pub/sub type system with device synchronization - and (h

If you can find an Entourage Edge 10" on ebay or somewhere, you would probably be set. I had the pocket edge version. These were very solid android dual-screen tablets - an e-ink and lcd display. The e-ink was also a digitizer, so you

I used to heavily use http://cooltext.com/ to generate logos over 10 years ago, and amazingly it's still there. The site is a web interface to GIMP (or at least was). It basically converts text into any typeface/e

You do have a good point there. It could work for home/apartment building attacks. I'm not sure how many people know about the WPS button most routers have now, but I've got several people using it. It's rather slick wh

The reason I don't think this would work is because no one knows their wifi password.

The code is never trasnmitted. The data is encrypted with the code and only the code on the other side can be used to decrypt it. Most brute-force systems work by capturing packets to hard drive and then attempting to decrypt them offline.

I don't even know of a client that implements this, but SSFP DNS records are the way to do this. http://www.openssh.com/txt/rfc4255.txt A security conscious client can manually verify a host's SSHFP with a d

I've seen this concept before and thought it might be useful in my organization. The general opinion I got back was that people hate email, and the daily digest would be pretty well ignored. Once I was reminded of this, I fully agreed.

Let's keep it with software. The bridge metaphor is more applicable to a service offering where you maintain infrastructure and adjust pricing based on the cost of maintaining it. In software, the license is what you sell. I don't

I too would love to see a plausible deniability like Truecrypt provided. Entering a passcode unlocks the phone, but only files stored under that passcode is visible. There is no way to tell how many hidden volumes there are. This does fall

You actually can't PXE boot the RPi. At best, someone might get a port of U-Boot working with the RPi and that would be what's on the SD card. I was hoping to test out bare-metal provisioning systems using RPi's but no love t
