Can somebody explain what does this mean for the field of AI (short and longer term) besides (I guess) the obvious advantage of being able to implement software algorithms in hardware?

Can you hot-swap the battery? (e.g. when you have another, perhaps smaller battery in the phone) Are the component connection points water-resistant? Irrespective of the contemporary answers to those questions, I believe this undoubtedly i

Total kudos. Now please move onto creating a dome that can serve as a shelter. I believe, to start with, the connectors simply could be made from a thicker rubber, but of course move will be needed. Thank you for your effort.

Any error handling that forces me to add extra lines into my code is one I see as too obstructing. First and foremost, asynchronous exception handling and propagation, and "long" stacktraces that go with it, should be a core part

I wish I could upvote you. You wouldn't believe but people are paid to downvote for non-conformity around here. I guess someone out there believes it may threaten the status quo.

I like how the author implicitly assumes that Bitcoin is a replacement for the current financial system. I wish it was so, but not just for Bitcoin, but the best set of the crypto-currencies, as determined by competition/user adoption.

So is it finally less expensive for Google to pay a lobbyist firm (hell, pay ALL the lobbyist firms) to significantly overhaul the patent law?

Maybe not entirely. By overdosing on artificial "vitamins", you drain your body out of the elements needed to process these. The rabbit hole goes a few miles deep. http://www.whale.to/a/shea1.html

to add - the main meaning of upper case is to help separate sentences, because the dot alone is not enough, unless the reader is specifically used for the dot to be the only separator. this is an example.

I don't think you would choose to use this particular sentence in a serious communication with anyone. The letter case would just not be enough of a distinguishing factor for you to risk the wrong meaning being conveyed. The letter cas

I guess that is why Facebook doesn't have a Dislike button. In the end, it never works. We are emotional creatures and sometimes we feel like we need to vent off somewhere. And during that time, we are highly likely to vent off on things un

Hmm, I was thinking more of "sending chunks of AOF" out to a separate, distributed storage (and the RDB snapshot file occasionally). Loading data from network could then be slower than from a disk, but also faster than from a disk, dependin

For a high-valued production data, if you think your data is safe after it's (finally) written to disk, then you're doing it wrong. Your data is not safe until a) it left the physical database machine, b) it left the physical datacenter to

True. This doc covers more targets: http://agner.org./optimize/calling_conventions.pdf However, if I'm going to do low-level server work, I will not be doing it for 32-bit anymore. (There goes the 32-bit EC2 "small" machine, but so be it.

Minor quibble? The 1Gbps (notice the small 'b') is a f*cking disaster. My ADSL connection has about 10Gbps (1.2MB/s), and that is so-so. Imagine you are working and need to download a 600MB Linux ISO, or something like that. Disaster. Makes

I wouldn't be confusing this with early rising, despite the fact that the author has. If you wake up at 2PM, but first duties are expected from you at 4PM, then you by all means are an early riser -- in the respect of your own day schedule.
