Does it? One thing going for this is that Apple is huge and iMessage has a massive amount of users. But on the other hand forcing developers to support all platforms is just not realistic.

Indeed. Especially since if you bring an iPhone for a screen replacement, you have to give them your pin and disable Find My for it. (At least in the 6S era). This is because they need to run a diagnostic/callibration tool and that can

I think it's more about choices being more nuanced as you get older, not really losing preferences. E.g. one might not have a favorite movie, but could have favorite action movie or similar. Btw, 'hot pink' is the correct ans

Amarok 1.4 was so good that I switched to linux for it, even bought a t-shirt. Amarok 2 was what made me leave. I've toyed a bit with quodlibet and clementine, but for me 1.4 was the peak music player.

A parallel with software would be shareware games. Often the first free chapter was the best the game would ever get. John Romero advocated for "finishing the first level last", in order to make it best. Music also felt like this

Encountering a “just” triggers my fight or flight response. I often interpret is as something that author has done so many times they have internalised it, regardless of the complexity of the task. It also probably isn’t documented with som

Somewhere I’ve read something in the lines of “I’m not five, I don’t have a favourite color”. I’d go on a limb and say that if this kind of questions is asked you can either take it as an ice breaker and discuss the pros and cons (it makes

The experiment itself only seems to consider imbalanced macros and additional sugar inside water. I too wish to know what exactly is meant by the term “processed” and whether, say, an industrial sausage is any worse than “all natural” shake

You are probably in an extremely small minority. At the very least most people have their 2-3 messaging apps of choice, without which the phone might as well be a brick.

They have claimed multiple times that before the App Store you had to get your programs from a brick and mortar store at a large commission, which justifies their 30%. Conveniently omitting that internet has already existed.

I tend to agree. There is nothing preventing an artist to sell two NFTs for the same media. Then you would have two competing "originals". Can't do that with a physical object. However it is also progressively harder to prove

Is there some documentary or a read that explains the american school system somehow? Reading the constant complaints about it (such as mountains of homework, suffering through classes and all that) is quite alien to me. Some classes were b

I'm a bit torn about this. For example it is generally believed that say SONY should not get a cut if I resell a CD I've bought. Why should this be different for paintings?

My idea originally comes from the fact that in eastern europe you have either a beer (500ml) or a "small beer" (330ml). Cans are 500ml and bottles vary. In france there is a pint (500ml) or a "half beer" (the usual size)

One of the reasons might be urbanisation and such? Although it is easy to go out in a city, the question sometimes is "what for"? I wonder if time spent on social media is correlated to population density of the area.
