Some people may genuinely fear that is going away since there is a lot of talk about hot-desking at the very least. Not having to pay for offices also has its advantages. Finally it adds to signal, without pro-office articles one would thin

The cool thing with git is that nothing is preventing you from doing the latter. For small personal projects I don’t even care about small commits.

If tests must pass in every commit then you can just run bisect with the test runner and go grab a coffee.

How can one just remove liquidity? Why is that even technically possible?

In France. Payment by cash is very rare, most everything is paid by contactless. But I think it's more of a habit that in restaurants and bars, you usually pay when leaving.

According to that test, I’d have Aphantasia, I guess. I could answer none of the questions immediately, even though I can imagine a table and a ball and somebody pushing it. I guess visually it would be like if you replaced a ball on a pict

I can imagine a sound that I’m familiar with. But for images i can think about a form of an object, or imagine rotating it, but it is nothing like seeing. Oh well.

One thing I haven’t understood with Aphantasia is this. Do people actually see stuff when they imagine things? Some test I’ve seen ask to imagine some object and close your eyes then ask if you see a black wall. Is it actually possible to s

No you can't. $('.elements') in jQuery is more equivalent to querySelectorAll('.elements'). You can however do: document.querySelectorAll('a').forEach(a => a.style.color = 'red')

jQuery has the most consistent return values I've ever seen in an API. It somehow always works. Contrasted to that the fact that a NodeList is not an Array gets me every time.

Most bars/restaurants I've been to have menus but no ordering system, you order and pay as before.

Everybody has a mobile phone, not everybody has a computer. Comparing iOS and windows market share is interesting, but only for the consumer market.

On the other hand well written tests are awesome. When I have a pull request to review that makes change to a code I'm not familiar with, I always go to see the changes in tests first, to see what has actually changed on the interface

I think that in the end I would wish for an article that distills the last part. "How to benefit from monadic nature of various concepts in any language". I believe that it goes beyond flatMapping over async functions, nullable ty

Commenting on documentation and maybe updating is a good point yes. Onboarding docs can get quite stale. Both doc and test have the advantage of not breaking stuff for other users. Sort of, adding huge tests that make CI timeout or bogus do

Haven’t used Eigen for quite a while, but I do remember it being rather slow to compile once it proliferates. Those templates are clever but also quite taxing.

Wait. Assuming one does not need or want to learn Haskell, what would then be a purpose of learning about monads? There seems to be a disproportionate amount of tutorials about monads. Not being able to provide sufficient amount of examples

I love me a random 1984 reference… care to explain what’s wrong with honouring user requests to delete their data?

GDPR text asks to delete all data for which the user withdraws consent to share. IANAL but that seems telling. When a user asks to delete a video it’s deleted, with it goes the title and description.

That’s a feature. If somebody deletes their video then all of the metadata goes with it. I agree that it can be annoying but among other things, it’s the law.

Very few, I'd even say that I have no other example in mind at the moment. I'm not saying that we should not strive to find the most equal way of solving all problems, just that some just don't have a good answer. These shoul

Home ownership is a factor but there are also things like: do the kids have a less stressful/dangerous/damaging to the body job. Are they able to save enough money to be able to not rely on retirement alone, and so on.

I wouldn't be so harsh. I don't know a single program that was made worse by adding undo. Imagine a painting program without it. (I'm sure there are some artistic programs that do that but those would be mostly toys) Trying t
