I still don't understand what people mean when they say something like "Rather than trying to reduce consciousness to fit into the box of relational/dispositional properties, it is time that we begin to explore it for what it

If you already think this is a problem then this guy will reinforce you belief. It's too pat of an answer and to wide of a subject to think that it explains these conditions.

I guess that I felt like it was speculative enough to cover a time period like that...but you're right. That part could be bad too. I just felt like it was a good narrative at that point in the book? It was entertaining. I wouldn'

I personally found Sapiens to be just like this blog post. It seemed to gloss over major historical factors in a way that presented them as accepted wisdom. This often hides implicit assumptions about those historical factors that reinforce

I actually wrote a much longer reply that I was going to post, but maybe it's easier if I just give you the point you are looking for. I don't want an open exchange of ideas. I think that the Republican party is a cancer on the bo

I don't know why this is being downvoted. It's clear that even German POWs were treated better than the Japanese...which under different circumstances is something we talk about as an example of how we are better than our enemies.

I disagree. There are narratives that become historical standards. These can be changed but there it requires ongoing effort to rectify the narrative against the latest research. Take the impeachment of Johnson as an example. The narrative

Race is a factor. After the camps were initially liberated prisoners became "displaced persons". Obviously, they were treated better than under the Nazis but many were held in the same camps for years after the war. This is from P
