This! I'm all glad about going back to GNOME and Wayland, but I really hoped Canonical was strong enough to put up a new mobile OS, even if just as a small player. It takes so much time (and money) to do so, and if even Canonical can&#

In what way? IMHO window managers is something Linux excels in. What does macOS has in its window manager that Linux lacks? (other than "no you can't maximise easily" feature...)

Many parts of trucks and buses are air operated. I have a small bus (converted to a little house-on-wheels) and air pressure is needed for the breaks to work, doors to stay closed etc etc. While I can understand why we use it for breaks, wh

I'm a Zsh user who tried xon.sh for 3 months now and reverted to Zsh just a few days ago. Performance. I easily have ~20 shell instances running (under tmux), and having each one of them run python simply slowed down my computer. I got

AFAIK the problem was with the database and not the with the repos. So yeah, I have all my files on my machines, but I don't have any copy of the issues, merge requests, wiki pages etc'.

Looks like a useful tool, but I kinda wish this kind of programs had a CLI. It seems to be doing one main thing (searching), and it could be super useful to be able to pipe the results to a downloading program. Some programs can benefit vas

While I agree with his general idea that Electron is usually not the best tool for the job, I think he's overestimating JS as the reason that people choose Electron. It's not because of JS, it's because of HTML and CSS, which

I never had the urge to rewrite the history of my code until I started using CI & CD. Since then, it happened to me few times that I wanted to fix something small and ended up trying multiple times, pushing a new "maybe this time?!

I think many of the copy-protection systems during the times of CDs & VHS were made exactly to prevent you from _sharing_ content with your friends & neighbors. I remember times when you couldn't use your own VHS to record tele

I have to admit I always thought of that as an advantage of tabs, since they allow the viewer to set how much to indent the code, and doesn't force anyone to adapt to someone else's preferred style. I like it when a tab = 4 spaces

This is interesting. Why do we use spaces anyway? I mean, really - what are the advantages spaces have over tabs? (I use spaces only because I try to follow common coding styles, like PEP 8, but I never gave it enough thought)
