It is often slower, harder to configure, and has fewer features than Nginx, Caddy, etc.

I suspect that people don't like changing web servers, and perhaps that's why it took the industry so long to move away from Apache. Ferron actually looks great — great performance, automatic TLS, easy reverse proxy configuration

Are you using Linux? I cannot think about an operating system in which it's so easy and safe to install software on. I use Arch BTW.

We all like hating big corporations, especially Meta, and people seem to use this as an opportunity to advocate for punishing them. I think it's wiser to advocate for changing our IP laws.

I wasn't sure what link to submit, but this video makes a good explanation: https://mozilla.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx... Works very similarly to Chrome profiles, I think.

I believe I grew up in a cult myself, and one of the things I've concluded from that experience, and from leaving it, is that everywhere is a cult. Humans have a tendency towards cult-ish life, and if the cult is big enough we just ref

Is this something they're slowly rolling out, or isn't available in the EU? I don't think I've ever seen an AI summary in my Google searches.

You probably know this, but I'm just writing it here because it took me a while to figure it out — you can also use the keybinding (Ctrl+Shift+L) to fill in login forms. It works 90% of time, and you don't need to copy anything. I

For me, it's much more about my workflow. I spend a lot of time in the terminal anyway, and running things there means a lighter context switch. Moving between apps (=panes), zooming, copy-pasting, all works the same.

Please consider changing the Gif in the README to a video. Not only it's a half the size (I just checked), it will also allow people to pause, rewind etc.

You mentioned Next.js and then Node.js. As for Next.js, it is supported by Bun ( https://bun.sh/guides/ecosystem/nextjs ). I don't think it's safe to assume that every single Node API is more commonly used

I don't know if that's the whole story? Sure, GitHub has more data to process (and way more compute), but even when switching between tabs within one repo (going from code to pull requests, for example) GitHub is still much slower

Checking out https://v10.next.forgejo.org/explore/repos , the main thing I notice in comparison to GitHub is how fast this is. I wish GitHub was so fast.

Sometimes it's a marketing stunt, but often recycling is more expensive. I mean, recycling a plastic bag is probably more expensive than making one. The unfortunate reality of our financial system is that it often rewards people for do
