Yes! They were not available to me, but I am glad they exist. HOPE could be improved by easing up the 3.0 requirement for GT, tho.

Strange that a technically capable engineering student would be at UGA when GeorgiaTech is of similar cost (and both free to Georgia residents who maintain a 3.0 though the HOPE scholarship). Not saying that you won't find good people at UG

NO. OMG NO. This (artistic) class of algorithm makes things look pretty, but does not add information and ABSOLUTELY does not add evidence. Any serious mention of generative algorithms in the context of evidence is at best negligent. Humans

It is a mistake, in my view, then, to swing too broadly in trying to fix things I feel that a natural line to draw is computability, which rayiner has argued against in another comment. He cites an old communications patent[1] as well as

You're taking an edge case and making the debate all about that edge case. Sadly, I see this the opposite way. Quantity-wise good, innovative architecture patents are in the vast minority. If we are to deal with software patents one at a

It will take them a good deal of time and money to clean room reverse engineer a non-trivial algorithm. During that time you can profit from your invention, and advance your product. It will probably cost more money from them to clean room

Do you agree that this software should be patentable? No. Maybe you'd say that the software isn't patentable, but using the software with the machine is? No. If you design a better blender, it is an visible improvement that can be immed

That's almost offensive - you seem to have a very ignorant viewpoint. Have you never heard of licensing? Research teams regularly build libraries that become incorporated into products that they do not sell. They can also license the math

Any idea can be modelled mathematically, but that doesn't meet my criteria. Modeling is an estimation of how something works, but it isn't the mechanism by which something works. The current state of software patents results in people filin
