Wouldn't "Videos to make you happy" a better description for this show hn? I couldn't find a way to "share" anything, it seemed more like a feed of videos.

I know that's how the saying goes, but I don't think I would be saying now that I'd wish I had gone traveling if I had not done it. I'm pretty such I would not be wishing for traveling if I'm at the same state of ha

I look back and my traveling days and I think I'd be better off doing something else during that period. It seems like traveling and adventuring has been glamorized by the media and people around me a bit much and I caught the bug. Lo

This beta group has been going on for a year, early 2019. Our retention rate is really poor, until today's posting about 400 signups and only 8 made it to the end. The current first phase is actually to answer this question: "For

My journey to rediscovery the joy of programming started at a local FreeCodeCamp meetup group. I simply showed up every meeting and got to know some of the regular students. I helped them with problems that were simple for me, but explainin

Loving the songs, the songs are so relatable. I wonder if anyone feels this during prod bugs: "They keep saying “we work as a team. But lowkey everybody’s blaming me" Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyrrPiNI3

very interesting idea. I've come across projects where functions are exported for the only reason of testing it. This library makes it so that your helper functions get to stay privately scoped inside the file.

I eventually learned (the hard way) to start getting users from day 1. Before I start coding something, I start with paper and pen and find a user. I build (quickly, usually always hardcoded stuff) it and show to user. They like / disl

Went to the site, excited to try it, then gave up after the login screen. Would it be possible to have a section for me to upload images to see the effect first? If I like it, I will create an account (presumably to save the images I upload

Yeah last year we did it for 3 months as a pilot program. It was a little messy, but the librarians loved it. I took about a year break to think hard about how it could be more effective and came up with a self-guided curriculum and then la

Yes. curriculum starts off with recursion, then moves on to higher order functions and nobody touches recursion again.

eventually everyone defaults to using forEach, every, map, reduce, filter, etc. Nobody writes recursion in codebases.
