I'm saying specifically even if we only allow in person voting with ID, there will still groups that cry foul when their team loses. Distrust in the system isn't from specific elements of how votes are cast, it's a function o

Yea agree. I think the reality is a significant portion of the American population don't want actual democracy, in that they don't want everyone to be able to vote. It's a feature not a bug.

There has been no evidence of wide spread fraud and there is every evidence that elections have been legitimate and fair. A non trivial portion of the population still thinks the 202 elections was rigged. End of the day, somme people will c

Is there evidence that in person voting is meaningfully more secure than other forms (like mail in voting) let alone 100% fool proof? Even assuming it is, how do we solve the other issues it causes if it's the only way to vote? e.g.: -

Taken in isolation this might be true, but these types of relatively small monetary damage don't seem to provide a good deterrent in general. Newsmax (as well as fox etc) is still airing provably false or at best misleading information

Scale in this case isn't just about software scalability though, in the sense of RPS it can handle. It's: - Don't build some automated support system until you get enough customers - Don't build a fully automated provisi

I don't like to defend facebook either but where does this end? Does google need to verify each email it sends in case it contains something illegal? Or AWS before you store something in a publicly accessible S3 bucket?

Personally I'm not very confident even in the next free and fair election things will change materially. Trump is the public face but the reason he's in office and also has control of congress is because Americans voted that way.

Not enough money in it. It's not something that is taken regularly for long term like ADHD meds, or something that pretty much everyone uses at some point like antibiotics. If psilocybin came in a pill, it'd be targeted to a relat

Doesn't need to be sustainable until 2062 though. It'll take until 2062 to break even if they keep with projected numbers for next year. They can be flat forever after that and it'll still be 37 years to break even. If they m

I think loyalty has value to the company but not as much as people think. To simplify it, multiple things contribute to "value" and loyalty is just a small part of it.

Ah yes, the human shield argument. Like the "tunnels" and graphics provided by the IDF. Convenient isn't? Every hospital, apartment block, school and refugee camp has hamas in them, so everything is fair game.

Nothing good comes from Iran getting a bomb for us, doesn't mean it's not good for the Iranian regime.

And then the next trump comes in and reneges on all the agreements. Would take a few decades of stability as has been carefully constructed by the US since world war 2.

Being attacked boosts domestic support for leadership, even unpopular ones. If Iran actually attacked the US some how, you can bet Trump's approval rating goes up.
