Doesn’t seem a good idea to limit responses to speech. Speech drives action often times and it should. Someone may protest because of something said, they may not want to associate with a person etc. I’m not sure I see a huge difference bet

Correlation vs causation. The lab is where the virus is at. Lots of bats in the area.

I think this is the problem. Many are claiming a lab leak is the most likely / probable simply because of the proximity of the lab. We should investigate absolutely, but just saying the lab is there so a leak is the most likely doesn’t

Absent of other information, why is this the most probably explanation? It’s possible sure, but the best we could’ve said, especially back then is we don’t know. Viruses from animals jump to humans all the time, and have caused other outbre

Isn’t that mixing causation with correlation. The lab is there because there are lots of virus sources there.

How do you propose to solve this without limiting others freedom of speech? You have the right to say whatever you want but I don’t have the right to respond? Seems like just another version of rights for me but not for thee.

It seems fundamentally it comes down to whether or not speech can directly cause harm. Canonical example of yelling fire and all that. But lately it’s also been about misinformation, lies etc. should for example defamation be a thing, or fr

Aren't you just replacing the word manager with the word "team lead"? What in your view is the difference between the responsibilities of a manager vs a team lead if the team still reports to the team lead?

Sounds a little suspicious to me. Maybe the candidate is missing some information (references didn't go well for example). Why would a company spend all the time to interview someone they weren't going to hire? Even if Databricks

I don't see how providing a personal perspective is agism. Numerically there are more unattached 20 somethings than 30 somethings.

Although where did those 2x, 3x increase come from? Did big tech grab employees from other companies who have been short handled for a couple of years? Not like all of a sudden we got 2x more engineers ready to go.

I hear this question posed a lot in this context, but we already done this now don't we? Someone (or ones) decides which laws are valid, which educational material to teach our kids etc. Are those not ok because some person or body of

Surely there is a more holistic measure of a CEOs performance than just a round of layoffs. Is Eric a bad CEO? If yes then he should be fired. If not then I don’t see how layoffs would justify it.

Interestingly I noticed this a while ago and in talking to some friends it seems this is less of a problem in some other languages. For example Chinese recipes and Thai receipes (in Chinese and Thai) seem to get straight to the point. Where

Yes good to clarify, this applies to the "dating" phase. I assume (hope) once in a stable long term relationship, it's more 1:1.

I don't know if that's true. From most data I've seen women's preferences skew towards a small percentage of men. i.e. most women want the same guys, which are the small minority. This leaves (making up numbers) 80% of w
