Where I live they installed street lights that are a lot dimmer by default, but they are connected and have motion detectors. Whenever someone comes near, the light gets brighter and so do the others in direction of travel. You kind of get

SkiaSharp has some MAUI integration, but AFAIK it's not used to render things. At least not when I last looked. On most (all?) platforms native drawing methods are used (which fits well into how MAUI works on each platform, admittedly)

If you want cross-platform WPF, there is Avalonia. For many normal-ish applications you basically change a few namespaces and that should be bulk of the work to migrate. I do wonder sometimes whether MS should just pick it up as a default-e

This hasn't been my experience lately. Are you perhaps comparing VS 2022 with Resharpen against Rider? Stock VS 2022 is quite a bit faster than Rider for me. And for the missing refactorings there is Roslynator.

Any PRNG will return the same sequence when starting with the same seed. That's basically the point of it and it's quite a useful and important property, e.g. for simulations where you then just have to document your chosen PRNG a

Does Java have a solution for such things where both libs can use their own version without them conflicting (unless they hand out Guava types to others, of course)? Custom class loaders?

Inkscape has been awesome, both as an editor for SVGs that leverages whatever SVG can support, and as a tool in automated processes. While I haven't used it much when I vectorized a lot of things on Wikimedia Commons (because handwriti

I'm biased here, but have you taken a look at yEd [π] (or yEd Live [7] for something that runs in a browser) In general however, graph drawing is a set of not that trivial problems to solve. There are a handful of layout styles out the

Yes, yEd is free to use. The licensing cost you found is indeed for the SDK yEd is built with.

As someone working indirectly on one of those “crap online editors”, I do wonder what benefits Inkscape has over other options for what is essentially a graph that may very well need an automatic layout. Someone else mentioned diagrams.net

LINQ to objects yes, but LINQ to SQL is a different beast where the C# code is translated to SQL. Expression trees are very much a language feature, I guess.

I asked them whether it was specifically about that and they said yes. The appliance in question was a consumer item, just a tad older, not a repurposed industrial machine.

Pyrolysis isn't exactly burning stuff, it's carbonizing it by heating without access to air. So no, it's not the same as wood ash because it's not ash.

Wouldn't the most sensible option just be too have the SI units at the center and everything else heaving a conversion edge to that? While intriguing, there is probably no need to make that graph any denser.

When I developed a text-mode UI library (not using curses) with a friend in university for fun, we tested this on his actual terminal connected via serial cable. You'll notice unnecessary redraws very quickly that way. (Granted, piping

When rendered as an image, they don't differ; you'd have to inline the SVG DOM in your HTML to make a difference. And yes, then you can have screen readers reading the text, ARIA attributes to better describe certain parts, etc. T
