Silverfish are beautiful! In my floorboards, or my bookcase, they are not a good sign... but they're so cute! And so ancient - primeval, even. Providing they stick to the back yard I can appreciate them.

For what it's worth, I sail and the average other sailboat I meet is sailed solo by an older guy. A small to medium coastal cruiser/overnighter type seems to be the sweet spot, can be easier to single-hand than many kinds of dingh

Sorry, can't think of any more funny ones right now. 4KSB is a Sailing Anarchy-ism; the same kind of boat is for some reason a MAB in the UK - a Manky Auld Boat. I take exception to that one.

:-D At risk of personally identifying information... I guess I did volunteer this one. I knew not many people pick a day in mid December to go sailing. I didn't know I'd be the only one out, the day they were doing a massive drugs

I'm assuming you mean American Civil War... and I wouldn't rush to call it done, some of those sieges involved a lot of big ammunition and there might be more out there. Impressive it was dry enough to go up, though, gunpowder soa

I dunno. I'm pretty sure the lack of barriers to entry, inconvenient and costly certification, and safety nannying helped windsurfing get ahead there too. That and dinghy clubs inevitably devolve into race clubs that revolve inexorably

It's not "gone" as if evaporated; it has been murdered by the certification requirements. The odds of a random stranger dying from a light aircraft falling on them are trivial, several orders of magnitude less than the odds o

...you don't need a (relatively) expensive single sideband set and radio-nerd tendencies to pick up weather data offshore where you live? That is pretty great if so. Would that there were more of it.

Why is it a bad thing for him to die where he has chosen to live and die? (assuming he actually has, which is really not something I'd bet too hard on, on the strength of one video). Why do you suggest it's a bad thing if nobody k

Thanks! So - midi velocity translates to PWM and hence solenoid force? Cool. You can always add some kind of mapping function if lower velocities are too low force. Nice work. (old pre-electronics player pianos could do dynamics but most re
