My bet would be on a version of xCode for iPad being released at WWDC 2017. This seems like a perfect way to get some wide testing of the compiler, coding keyboard, etc. I wonder what IDE enhancements we can expect from a touch interface.

I can believe that the long-term trend is upwards but the demographic reasoning seems like it should apply on the scale of decades not years. It doesn't explain why 2016 would be worse than 2015 or 2014. This year is likely just an out

Here's what I did: Flew into Yangon via Bangkok and got my bearings. Then I took an overnight bus (~11 hours I believe) to Bagan and stayed there motor biking around the temples for a few days. From there I took day-bus to Inle Lake (~

I just got back from 2 weeks in Myanmar and it's a fascinating country. I was very surprised that many of the Buddhist monks you see walking around carry smart-phones and tablets! It threw me for a loop when I saw a monk inside a pagod

MaxCDN serves us pretty well (a few TB/mo). It has been much much cheaper than Cloudfront ever was (mostly due to not charging by number of requests).

Facebook (in addition to Google, as mentioned above) has already required all 3rd party ads to be served over https both on their core site and on all apps on their desktop platform.

It's a settlement so in most cases this would be the end of it and there should be no higher court ruling. But in reality Samsung is still pursing an end around via the USPTO.

Lots of complaints about flightcar here in the comments but I'll just chime in that I had an excellent experience renting from them last time I was in SF. It cost 3x less than any other rental company and I got a much bigger car and it

I think it's actually using location services (GPS+wifi triangulation) to determine where you are rather than traditional server-side inference from IP address. I'm on vacation in China right now and did some experimentation and e

One thing I would like is more tower capacity for dense events like sporting events and music festivals. Even with a strong 4g connection I often can't even reliably get a text to go through while tailgating at a football game.
