thanks for the example - means people are doing it. With a mobile app - it is different I guess in that the credentials are probably staying on the mobile device - they just need to do the proxying on the client - it seems. I don't hav

This is the site with the credentials - It's not an intermediary/proxy. The point is I want to have a different site (eg. myawesomehnsite.com) that will use the firebase api for a reader but allow the user to upvote or comment on

It is - it's really based on trust. The truth is anytime you give any credentials to anyone, they can abuse it (to the extent the credentials allow.) For services that don't have something like OAuth to give a token-based credent

You'll have to normalize them to text to make it work - the format is not important for the deduplication (meaning the same text in a word doc or pdf is really the same thing to you, even though at the byte level the files may be very

I think a pure diff is going to give you too much noise and will be misled by simple mutations (I think..). Here's an approach - after you normalize the docs to text you should then extract terms/keywords (google "term extrac

I think that every stack should include elasticsearch - whether it's for search, logging, or analytics - or all three.

The basic flaw in the reasoning is the line: >There are no smart people or stupid people, just people being smart or being stupid. There are in fact stupid people out there and sometimes they are in positions of influence and sometimes t

It seems this argument can be summed up as follows: Side 1 - eventually computers are going to be so powerful that it'll be trivial to create a realistic simulation - so we must be in one. Side 2 - our "mind" cannot be repres

When you have 100GB of data on a 32GB machine. Redis will choke and ssdb will keep going (it's using leveldb under the hood). The point is not better performance but acceptable performance that's more than fits in memory.

Why isn't ssdb more popular?

I still don't really understand your use case to suggest how to solve it - it doesn't seem like it should have to work like that but I don't really know. So why don't you use mongo your main data source and for the aggre

If I understand your case, you'd have to do it in multiple steps - you would get the results and paginated them, and record the hashes in a different store (eg redis) - then run the aggregations on a paginated set of hashes. I unders
