Same sort of development one would do anywhere from my experience. I'm not sure what you imagine when you think of the Midwest, but I live in a city with over a million people (not Chicago). I have friends that work for companies on th

Salary depends highly on where you live due to cost of living. Starting salaries in Seattle for example were around 30% higher last I checked when compared to much of the Midwest. If you make $80k where I am, I would be expect the same pers

Having worked in both Linux and Windows shops, yes, there are people that would readily use Windows on a π, because that's what they know best. Could they use Linux? Yeah, probably, they're smart people. However, that's a bun

I've used Opera since 2004 and the current Chromium based Opera is barely even a shadow of what it once was. It took them well over a year just to implement bookmark functionality, because they didn't feel it needed it and then re

I always preferred this little illustration for how DNS worked[1]. It's similar to the linked one, but more minimal and to the point. I had a 1920x1200 copy around somewhere I used for a desktop background, but can't find it at th

Depends on the class. History tends to have a lot of lectures. Science classes, math and English I don't recall as many (this was about 10 years ago). Also varies by teacher and I would assume school.

Not true. The JRE version on my copy of PyCharm is 7 (it's from 2014 and may be JRE8 now) and it's running on Windows currently. I ended up buying Intellij IDEA instead and I know it's running under JRE 8 by default, so I ass

We do have 8, 12 and 18 core CPUs made by Intel. They're just expensive and not made for the typical consumer. My PC at work has the 12 core Xeon. It's nice for compiling large projects, but at home I'm content with a 4 core
