The position of "Head of Catholic Church" has been vacant for centuries, it seems. Also, the domain of Mary Magdalene's mail was seized by FBI (that or it's a prank).

I'm using GUI Emacs. There is one thing I use the mouse for: resizing windows. Apart from that, GUI is more visually pleasing, it doesn't try to emulate graphics by fitting characters into the grid. When it wants to paint a line,

The editorialized title is inaccurate. It's not a "New GUI for the Web". It's "A new way of creating GUI in the web". There is an important difference.

A while ago there was a post on HN about pkgsrc [1][2][3], which works on Mac, among other platforms. I haven't tried it, but it may be worth a shot. [1]: < https://rubenerd.com/using-netbsds-pkgsrc-everywhere-i-can&

It is a built-in in zsh. Thanks to that, it will recognize when something is a built-in, an alias, a function or a command and report accurately what will be executed when you type it in without the "which".

What do you base that on? Just because someone chooses other languages whenever they can, doesn't mean they're not forced to use C++ at work.

I regularly read source code of the Rust standard library. With C++ I don't even bother, it's futile.

In my experience, people waste performance and manhours at the same time. Many abstractions create more code instead of reducing it, at the same time making the code slower, harder to read and maintain. Would you rather maintain a couple hu

I feel the pain of a lack of REPL. I frequently want to check a snippet of code, but need to go through the cycle of creating a test case, copying code, modifying it so that it works standalone without its context, running it and then delet
