It's entirely possible this person just felt like they have other, better, options. Maybe they don't want to be a web dev, maybe they want regular work vs the uncertainty of consulting, maybe they felt like they weren't up to

When you are north of 150k in base that's already considered pretty high for a lot of these other companies. Then you add in stock, bonus, etc... Adds up to a huge package.

I think they are too big, have too much information, have too many near-monopoly positions they abuse, and far too much control over the internet. Same thing applies to facebook, and to a lesser extent Amazon. break them up.

The opioid epidemic was a direct result of giving out opioids as painkillers. A better example is smoking. You allow it, you tax it, you educate people about the dangers. Some people still smoke, but the numbers are way down.
