If you reduced your carbon footprint to 0 for your entire life you will have saved less then a second of industrial CO2 output. Personal choice is meaningless wrt climate change. It's a topic that cannot be addressed without structural

You clearly have some positive experience with DDD, and I'm definitely not trying to say that DDD is broken by design or anything like that. I'm sure there are successful and maintainable projects that utilize this design approach

My only point was that SemVer is unnecessary if you're the only consumer of that code. A simple integer or a date would work just as well and would be much easier to automate.

It might just have hardware support for relevant codecs. They often do, which gives them a massive advantage when playing media files.

SemVer was specifically for libraries. It's really pointless to adhere to it if your code won't be imported into software projects of other people.

I'll be honest. i haven't encountered a single workload in which i had to write over 90 GByte over 30 seconds (3gbyte sustained for 30 seconds), so you could be correct. Even benchmarks are generally done within 10-15 seconds and

Why though? My drive can write with up to 3gb/s. I only have 32 gb of ram, so the process should take at most 10s. Generally less, as a lot is usually free.

I haven't had a single USB-C socket fail, so I kinda think the same applies there. Not even a single cable broke, so I am really confused when people like you seem to manage to destroy them left and right

Elixir (the language phoenix is written in, which is the framework that has these live views) is great with concurrency. You can have incredible quantities of parallel sockets open with basically no overhead. There have been various write-u

That sounds like a senior engineer vs junior engineer experience level. The term 10x engineer is generally used differently. Though I guess the reason for terms like that might just be related to how many inexperienced people get senior le

People drive 25 mp/h or 40 km/h on bike lanes? I routinely drove about 27-30km/h without assist and was already getting worried about breaking speed and people entering the bike lane. Going so much faster would be terrifying

Why handcrafted instead of the framework laptop? Are you just itching to do that project, or is there some other issue you had with getting the laptop from them?

the only issue with java in this context is that you'll need to create a new class/transfer object between each function call that does things. with elixir (the previous example) you'd likely use simple hashmaps or lists like

This has always been how Twitter operated. It is in no way a result of last years debate, as the mentioned tweet did in fact break their rules. While the author meant it as a jest, it nonetheless was actually encouraging self harm.
