It's partly a Rails problem because there's a ton of different ways to implement something, so people will always find reasons to disagree with what you did. And the Rails community seems particularly over-opinionated about these

The main problem with Rails is that other developers you work with have strong opinions about coding style, and they hammer you on code reviews if you don't code their way.

But the "noise" also reduces ambiguity. For example, you can search the code and see s is a NSString in Objective C. You can't do this in Swift.

If your intent is to memorize every factoid and point made in the text, then speed reading won't be effective. However, if you naturally skim articles really quickly looking for information that will be of interest to you, then in a se

This reminds me of how Peter Thiel said extreme pessimism and extreme optimism are both problems because they both lead to inaction. Why do anything if you believe the world is getting really good or really bad?

When private companies take out loans, that creates more money. So economic growth causes the money supply to increase. If they default on the loans, the money created previously is still there.

I think the only feasible way Twitter could stop abuse is if it charged $100 per signup, and then ban people on the slightest whim. I don't see how anything else would work. Of course the downsides of a plan like this are so large that
