Does an RPi 4b even have virtualization extensions? I'm wondering even if it can even run KVM.

Between my electric heat, dryer, stove, water heater, and car it's easy to get close to the limit, and that's before anything that runs on 120, like computers, a refrigerator, lights, or washer.

Just to clarify here: when you talk about a "main fuse", you mean one that sits between the meter and the entire rest of the panel, correct? So individual circuits would be downstream of the main switch. For context, most American

So do American stoves. I have a 50A/240V circuit for my stove. Three phase on the other hand is a slight of hand, since that gives you more power than what 230V would imply ;)

I use proxmox, which is more or less a VM and workflow manager on top of KVM. The overhead on something like an RPi would be ridiculous, but on modern x86 hardware with an IOMMU (VT-d in Intel speak, AMD-Vi for AMD), the overhead of passing

As does AWS. Of course, they have to be Certified (TM). OTOH, the general principle of "just have a giant in memory DB" isn't actually that crazy. In fact, a lot of the complex distributed data storage systems that a lot of s

As a programmer, your value prop/job/business isn't delivering code. It's solving business problems. If a library lets you do that faster, then it's a good idea. Flexing your ability to code has no place in the real

That's not being lazy, it's being sane. Nothing's worse than screwing up something basic that should have been handled by a library. Leftpad might be on the too many libraries end, but that's an extreme example.

The problem from my end though is, who really competes with them? No one else offers the same level of control at the same (or even close) price point.

1500... per year? I use more than that by myself per month. Granted, I have all electrical appliances, heat, and a car, but even without those I have to imagine I'd still use significantly more. Thank god for being on hydro I guess.

Consumer demand is shaped by credit availability. Regardless, the issue with electric cars right now is almost entirely supply constraints, not demand. You have to wait months or even over a year depending on which particular car you want.
