safe Rust isn't just the borrow checker, it's also: - no uninitialized memory - clone vs copy semantics as part of the type system - Send, Sync, "fearless concurrency" - no unchecked indexing - type safety (y

This is assuming uncorrelated results too. As you observe more and more of your businesses failing, you would want to update your estimate of your own rate of failure. Each new failure in a string of only failures is slight evidence that yo

From what I've seen of environmental review laws, they mostly just have to do with noise and construction nuisance. Whereas community review is mostly about aesthetics. I don't think these are the tools designed for safety.

Right: unlike dying, if someone sits in traffic more, they're able to change their situation and seek alternatives. It's not like increasing traffic in the short term is something reasonable to extrapolate to all drivers for the r

I am not sure if you're in agreement or not, but yes, loans help access things that cost money (like basic needs) in the case that earnings are deferred due to education. Student loans generally require no payments until 6 months after

I held a similar level of student loan debt, and it was worth it. My earnings are much larger thanks to the degree it enabled me to pursue, and I was able to pay it off early. While I don't think the system is ideal, just the existence

I think this is the correct way to phrase it. Just because the probabilities of each are both 50% doesn't mean it's more likely than not to get the same number of ones and zeros. It would just mean you're equally likely to ge

These lanes are confusing and dangerous in my experience. I choose to bike on folsom instead now. We have great protected bike lanes elsewhere in the city (valencia between market and 15th, folsom north of division) and I don't underst

Because of the flatness of the voltage curve, limiting your charge to the middle range makes the state-of-charge estimation a much more difficult problem (less voltage signal). So there's actually a trade-off between longevity and accu

As a frequent pedestrian, this sounds great. A slow car is a safe car. I've often wondered why lights don't seem to be timed in cities for how long it takes to walk a block.
