You could also do the following to compute the overhead of the timing function: time_start = time.perf_counter() time_end = time.perf_counter() execution_time = time_end - time_start

Also recommended: Everything [1], a stupid fast file search engine for Windows. The initial index build takes less than a second for 100k files (no idea how it does that). Much better than what Windows provides natively. [1] https:/&#

It's not what you say, but how you say it. This is just mindless disproportional bashing. "Come on Google I don't have all day!" "This is actually one of those crazy "facts from the future" to go back in t

I don't see any factual objective discussion in the twitter thread. Btw, I'm not a big fan of Google, which I guess is what you were implying. In fact, I think Google is the most dangerous tech company currently in existence and I

The most amazing part about this is that regardless of how much more details one would want to put into it, it is probably practically infeasible to make it complete. It's a wonderful example to demonstrate the importance of the concep

Funny. My favorite example to demonstrate why people do absolutely not care about privacy is Signal. In terms of privacy it is a superior messenger to Whatsapp and Telegram, but in terms of usability and convenience it is horrible and that

When i use the `ncdu` utility for example it does not highlight selected entries when using `putty-256color`. Example: https://i.imgur.com/ZibnkOm.png (left `putty-256color`, right `xterm`). Maybe this is a shortcoming of t

I found that the `putty-256color` terminal does not really work well with utilities using more advanced TUIs such as ncurses.

Didn't believe that this is really possible. Certainly interesting to see what is possible with macros and workflow optimizations. However, why is this extensive note taking necessary? Shouldn't the course materials provide a digi

It still doesn't explain to me why the authors still mention the BMI. It seems like a meaningless piece of information given that they have much better markers.

As somebody who is not familiar with medical research, can anyone tell me why the authors mention the BMI here at all? As far as I understand, the BMI is an indispensable metric for statistics on large populations. However, in a case study
