Wow that's not something I've heard of before. Do they require staff to do the therapy in the hopes it will make a more productive workforce? I think I'd like to work at a place like that.

I'm not blaming you I'm saying most of the time management will pick the cheapest option. That leads to bad outcomes for a lot of legacy software. That then leads to someone spending more money replacing the legacy system

Because novice programmers are cheaper and businesses make decisions based on short term cost. Especially when projects get old.

I think the author is suggesting that you often can't do it with soft deletes anyway. https://brandur.org/soft-deletion#undelete

I think many people understand general purpose to mean it's a good language choice for many different and common uses. It has little to do with how Turing complete the language is. Just how well it suits a variety of problem domains.

My point was more "Anything that good hackers would find interesting." It's not an exclusively tech site but does lean heavily in that direction. And you're correct I'm not a soccer fan.

I've found desktop upgrades to be poor as well. For gaming it's great, you can upgrade to the latest graphics card and get a huge boost but for work not so great. By the time I want a new CPU I'm going to need a new motherboa

I like my work laptop. I have an ergonomic desk setup with a dock. If I need to demo something I can pick up my laptop and go to a meeting with my environment already setup and ready. I'd like a better performing computer but my laptop

I solve trivial software problems but get to help solve interesting business problems. I still code but have moved into a role where I get input on the business processes that my software helps run. It's awesome and I love it. My input

The top 1000 richest people are probably not good examples for the rest of us. They're extreme outliers. Much like professional athletes few make it to the top 1000. The average Joe is not going to make it.
