Yes today I had administrative tasks all morning. Then meetings. Then a fault with the email provider in production. Then in the last brain fried hour of the day attempted to code but didn't get far.

Yeah I think you might be correct. I used the wrong term but I guess what I don't like is the idea of calling someone's boss to get them fired for saying something mean online. On the other side I'd not want people on my team

I'm pro free speech and hate when people get cancelled for their beliefs. I don't think firing was appropriate based on the story told in the article, but also recommend not acting like the author. Not to avoid being fired but to

I think they're arguing that you get a performance gain. Personally the systems if deal with wouldn't gain from such and optimisation as there is too little data. So I'll stick to the simplest approach.

I'll have a look. The last time I touched anything open source in this space it was Adempeire. That was not a good experience.

My wife couldn't sleep through my snoring after we had our first child. Her hormone changes gave her trouble sleeping and the extra tiredness, from a baby, meant my snoring got worse. She demanded that I go to a doctor to sort it out.

My reflux seems to have gone now that I'm on CPAP for my Apnea. No idea if that would apply to anyone else but I still thought it was worth sharing.

I've used many different databases. They're all very similar I've not had trouble adjusting. Every ORM I've used has required more time to learn. I'm not against ORMs but I've yet to see a situation where one w

They look perfect but the most I've ever spent on a car works out to be about $4.5K in USD. I guess the running costs would be lower but this is well over double the most expensive car I've ever owned.

Thanks for the reply. Yes we use Jetstream. Just Nats with Jetstream on. I've found it to be very simple to run. We have a small team so our complexity budget is low.

What I want in travel is warm and dry. Get me a small warm dry single person electric vehicle for cheap and I'll be in. For now I'll use my car.

That 2% is still a big cost. I think In-Situ Resource Utilization is what we need to make it cheap enough to do more in LEO. I know it's insane but mining water in space and sending it back to earth seems to be one of the best options.

Yeah, it comes down to cost benefit. Different situations require different qc strategies. But the fact that something is not 100% effective is not. Good argument against it.

It sounds like you might be mixing concepts. Accounting records can duplicate copies of information without needed links to the original. Sometimes this is better. You want a snapshot of what things were at the transaction time.

Wow, that's a radically different view than mine. Can you expand on your world view and your views on the value of life? It would be interesting to understand where you're coming from.

But look at it the other way. This normalizes suicide. It will increase the number of people that are temporarily in a bad way ending their lives. That is not a good outcome.
