Tax write off is not free. At best you get ~50% back. Still expensive if you don’t use it enough.

He used that excuse to sell 9B of Tesla stocks. It's pretty hard to justify selling that much as a CEO of the company.

On the bright side they can probably get out of their position today for 15-20% profit. Not bad for a 3 days trade.

Patch panel is where your cable run terminates. Since that part is more expensive to fix, you don't want to touch it. The only moving part is a small cable from your switch to patch panel.

IIRC Netflix run their own boxes for content delivery, which makes sense because of the exorbitant cost of bandwidth on AWS.

I can’t find this info anywhere, does anyone know if I can keep everything but email and keep using the accounts as they are? I’m happy to move email to another provider but I can’t move decade of google play purchases.

I'd say don't even consider colo unless you have a specific use case. Rented dedicated servers are cheap, let someone else take care of the hardware.

It does affect people who already bought a home, because when interest rate changes, home price will change too. It's not a problem when equity increases, but in the other direction it could be.

I doubt they incorporated in Vietnam. Most likely it’s a Singapore company, I found a Sky Mavis registration in Singapore: https://www.companies.sg/business/201913227N/SKY-MAVIS-PTE-L...

The difference is Starbucks have 6.5B in cash/cash equivalents, and there is no ways to convert SB gift card balances to cash. What is the hacker going to do with it, order 1B cups of coffee?

Apparently the money in tech review is in affiliated marketing and not ads. I've seen people pulling 200K a year with around 100K subs.

Yes. > 2.3.4 Previews are a great way for customers to see what your app looks like and what it does. To ensure people understand what they’ll be getting with your app, previews may only use video screen captures of the app itself. Stick

You kinda did this to yourself by using Swift when it was not stable yet. Meanwhile old Objective-C code continues to work just fine on iOS 15.

Even if Russia nuke a Ukraine city tomorrow I don’t think the West would get involved directly. Do you really want to fight a mad man who already used a nuke once?

The YouTube algorithm is the problem. Any feature that was designed to maximise engagement will eventually destroy the product itself. You can only avoid the algorithm if you don’t use the YouTube app.

China want Taiwan with or without TSMC. If China take over Taiwan the US will probably block ASML from doing business with TSMC.

Hetzner is buying cheap traffic, you get what you paid for. It's usable, but you likely won't get full speed outside of Europe. You can set up a VPS on DigitalOcean in Frankfurt as a reverse proxy if you need a better network.

Some domain registrars provide a catch all email for your domains. Just forward that to your own gmail (or whatever service you are using). That way you are in control of the email addresses and can take advantage of free email services.

Yeah, always bridge the ISP box if possible. Get an EdgeRouter or run a decent router with OpenWRT or run pfSense/OPNSense on a spare x86 machine, those should be plenty fast for moderate usage.

People see servers with multi Gbps and think it’s a requirement for high traffic websites. Unless you’re serving videos, bandwidth is almost never the bottleneck.

Note that 15% decrease in commission is 21% increase in revenue for the developer. For $4.99 you can drop to $3.99 and keep around the same proceed.

Exactly. I didn’t see any indie developers drop their price when Apple reduced the commission to 15% for the first million.

Apple ran out of people to sell iPhone to and they’re turning into a service company to keep the stock price flowing. Infinity growth is cancer.
