If the US defaults on its debt we have bigger problems.

You said as if it was out of the goodness of their hearts and not because they wanted to access the cheap labor market of China. The west would not have their living standard as high as today if it wasn't for China.

When I was in college, there were always some people on the network who would leave their iTunes wide open, and that was how I discovered new music to listen to.

Apple don’t do discount for latest gen unfortunately. On a related note: if the USD stays strong and you live outside of the US, you will get a price bump when they refresh the product line.

M2 Pro is faster than M1 Max for CPU bounded tasks. When they release the Mac Studio with M2 Max, it'll be faster in GPU department & have 10Gbps ethernet, more ports, probably for the same price.

This is false. Apple adjusted price for products when exchange rates changed. They don’t do it daily, usually it happens at product releases like today.

That is easy to understand but unless there is a government policy to discourage outsourcing, companies who do not outsource would lose to companies who do. I do not trust any governments to come up with such policy.

The raw number doesn’t tell the whole story. Singaporeans can travel to China without a visa while other top 10 countries can’t.

I know it’s not directly relevant, but maybe consider dropping iOs 14. All devices that can run iOS 14 can also run iOS 15, and it’s much easier to find devices that run iOS 15 to test with. Any iPhone 6s, SE or 7 will do.

In my opinion, yes. It's simple to run, simple to back up, simple to migrate to a new server, upgrade path is straightforward (find the fastest single core CPU).

I lol-ed at this. A few years ago, someone said it runs as a single process on 1 core and use no database, everything is written to filesystem.

If you have a local back up and the provider supports IMAP, you can just sync it back to the new provider.

The POI is indeed reused from Ingress. For a very long time the only way to get a new POI in Pokémon GO is to make a new portal in Ingress and it will sync over.

Interestingly, this does not affect iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. Either the production lines for them are not affected (yet) or Apple have plenty of inventory for the holiday season.

Whatsapp can't read the message on their servers but they can read it at clients, otherwise they cannot display the messages for users. Likewise, Apple/Google can read them too because they have to in order to render the texts.

Bandwidth = data per unit of time. So for the same amount of data, faster bandwidth absolutely decreases load time.
