I cant believe this actually happens. Here in Mexico you can schedule a private GP for the next 3 pr 4 days if you want to pay. If it's a very minor thing, you can go to most pharmacies and a most likely recent medical graduate will be

I've worked extensively in production services with both of them. I learned to hate both. Ruby stupid symbols vs string make code super error prone. Symbolize? Wtf . Also mutable strings are a minefield. Python semantic spacing is stup

I like libreoffice for what it has represented since the days of StarOffice. BUT... A couple of months ago my dad and I had to edit a large-ish book of 250+ pages (recipes) with a Table of contents and whatnot. We ended up using Google docs

This is one thing I strongly wish that the EU political arm could throw all its weight as it did with GDPR: Create an insanely strong law like GDPR making businesses have simple non-lawyeresque Terms of Services.

Just recently I was reading about OpenSuse thimbleweed rolling release. I read a lot of Great things about it, everyone said it was great. Then I saw a couple of videos and realized its UI (of their control center) is stuck in the 90s and i

You almost described the reaction of the "tech bros" when the Reiser murder happened: The number of gymnastics some people went through to justify Hans' actions(removing a seat in his car, buying books about crime investigat

Aaah but in Mexico exactly the same thing happens: you can basically ignore Buro/Circulo de Credito and after 6 years by law they have to drop any unpaid debt report. I worked in a Mexican credit startup 10 years ago and one of the ma

I used to be a RPM based distro user back in the day before `yum` existed. The RPM dependency hell left me PTSD and using `apt` was a breath of fresh air. Nowadays I only use `yum` in Amazon based instances and for the normal day to day st
