No, The first @condiments would define a class variable. class HotDog attr_accessor :condiments end Or for Java-socialized folks: class HotDog def initialize @condiments = nil end

I think we got it by now. Unfortunately, vimperator has quite a few quirks and makes too many changes that cannot easily be undone, which is the reason why I uninstalled it and moved to VSW.

> If two groups are arguing, but one group has an implementation and the other doesn't, well, the implementation wins. It almost doesn't matter how braindead it is I'm the least bit surprised.

I'd say the answer to both questions is code review. The difference is in how you get people to actually dig through the code and comment on it.

The products that are actually useful (eg workstation) are not free. Even those products you mentioned are free only in the sense of free beer -- with obligatory registration.

Erm, how do you get win7 to run in a virtualized environment without "buying it"? I think the "more natural" course of things would be to run the existing win xp installation in a virtualized environment on a non-ms os.

The short description says "a rake like task management tool _____for______ haskell". It doesn't say "written in haskell".

Make it "a rake like task management written in Haskell with a nice DSL for everyone" and I'll take a look. Why would a want to use a task management tool that is explicitly targeted at a single language?

There are better alternvatives for that: 1. Many other languages use catch/throw or a more sophisticated version of break. 2. This is often done with try/finally in other languages. There is no excuse for re-introducing the goto co

"Unplugged" in the sense of "page not found". Or am I missing something? When I open the homepage I get redirected to: http://csunplugged.com/de/home that doesn't exist.

The comparison is slightly tendentious in that the info on ruby isn't always up to date (eg "Modules" and "HTTP and other Internet stuff").

Just for the record, the Windows Vista start menu does this list thingy too. But you can still choose to have hiararchical menus à la w95 if you want to.

You shouldn't infer from English on all European languages. In some languages you would say "three (and) twenty" instead of "twenty three".

I'd say the ideas were there before RoR. E.g. setup.rb (just to name a simple example) works with zero configuration but you have to put your files into the right directories.

IIRC it has to do with the environment where the assignment takes place. Take a look at the language specs for details: http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-lang.html especially: http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-lang.html#Argum

Multimethods means that a method is dispatched not only on basis of the receveiving object (or read: first argument) but on basis of all arguments. The term is inherently related to OOP: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multimethod

1. This isn't true for complex text editors. 2. Java isn't slow if that's what you were insinuating. According to the shootout game the java vm is generally faster than mono.
