This is really a tragedy, I would have at least hoped they would have offered it someone like archive.org to keep.

The fact that you have to be on “the” relay to meaningfully participate on the network. If you instead claim that users can always choose to use other 3P relays, then you immediately lose all the nice things that Bluesky is able to do well

People want the old Twitter, and Bluesky is close to that. It also cosplays being decentralized to people who don’t look too closely.

What reason does Bluesky give for not opening up their AppView code? Another notable component that is closed source is the discovery feed generator, where at least there is some reason.

It’s a start for sure, a TV that’s really out to track you might well be able to circumvent these blocks, but most TVs (and indeed most tracking technologies on the web) to my understanding are not so sophisticated. For the average person w

Quite amusing to see Google’s own tracking domains in the initial list [1] of domains they’re going to apply this to. [1]: https://github.com/GoogleChrome/ip-protection/blob/master/Ma...

idk here in India, we have 2FA for everything. I would say it very rarely fails, speaking from personal experience.

Why would 2FA cause lose sales? One would imagine it’s because people are being auto charged for shit they don’t want but haven’t noticed or forgot to cancel.

While this sounds good, you could just dump the contents of /etc into git and it would work about the same.

Caveat: You own your identity only as long as you use did:web, and did:web is not much different from webfinger, which is what activitypub uses. To clarify, the alternative (and default) is to use did:plc, which utilizes Bluesky (the compan

Regardless, it’s important that people document and collect such anecdotal evidences (assuming it’s done somewhat properly and not cherry picked) In my book, pure numbers can’t capture the complex realities that people face in their lives.

How is the game state not just the board state? Move history doesn’t matter in chess (FEN encodes the 50 move rule)

I don’t know what router you use, but openwrt lets you set firewall rules that only match the last 64 bits. This should solve your problem, provided you configure your router to hand out static IPv6 leases to devices.

You can dump iterm2s config into a file and sync it to other machines. Granted it’s not meant to be edited directly but rather via the GUI, but yeah it’s possible to persist it if you want.
