But it's not really a trade barrier if it applies equally for everyone, including domestic products, is it? Then it's just a safety regulation barrier, which also the US has plenty of. It's something else entirely to point

At least try to make the situation comparable: If you made HATS and sold them at a STORE (is the all caps thing legalese or why do we talk this this?), and the owner of BIGGEST HAT STORE walked into your STORE and told you: "Nice STORE

The water is fine ! All you have to do is a little song and dance now and then, and you hardly even feel the heat. If it was boiling I'd be out of here in a jiffy.

That is a lot of words just to make it sound reasonable that a page can be exempt from the underlying screenshot functionality. It isn't. Not without asking the user.

If you want to store logs in a database, just use standard rsyslog. It has supported database backends pretty much since its inception at the dawn of the century. No need to reinvent anything.

High cost of doing business is what makes societies stagnate. We've seen that over and over again throughout history, and we will see it again it we continue too far on this road.

The only way that argument makes sense is when inverted. Packet switched networks did not compete with loose wires hand placed by polite women. They competed with circuit switched networks which emulated that network architecture. And packe

If I am applying for a job, I invest my (valuable) time in them. I expect my counterpart to return that favour. Anything else would be a quick bail for me, and I expect over time anyone who hires in disrespectful ways will get the candidate

There's no end how complicated you can make things for yourself, if you really want to. What you should do is make software good enough so your users will use it, and publish the source code under a free license. The first Debian devel

Giving software the rights to overwrite itself is not good design. Mozilla can, because they are so large they can have people spend their days working on it. No one else should.

Neither phones, nor email, not even usenet had this impact. Social media did. The problem is not with the technology but those that control it. (Some would probably say, the fact that any one actor controls it in the first place.) Our only

Right. LLMs are text production machines. You can also view them as data expansion tools. They expand an input to an arbitrary long text. That text contains roughly the same amount of information as was contained in the input to begin with.
