I think the parent commenter's answer was pretty valid. You have to vote with your wallet. Buying used will signal to the market that people don't want the crap that's being produced. Or, especially, given the generous return

To give a more realistic answer to this question, when I was writing an article about npm dependencies[1], I incidentally came upon a case where the developer of node-ipc released a malicious version of the package that affected computers i

How can you set an app to production without Google verification if you're not in a workspace. I'm guessing the answer is that there is no way.

Author here! When I first heard about this fun fact I was pretty surprised and expected the version number to be 100s of digits long by now given how old TeX is. But the history and reasoning behind this change (made in 1992) is pretty fasc

Unlimited history is nice but I hate how history works out of the box. I might be doing something wrong but ctrl+h pops up a sidebar which shows every single website visited today in no discernible order. I've learned about ctrl+shift+

I think total number of commits is probably a good metric too. If the project only has 7 commits to begin with then it's unlikely to get any more updates after it's "done". But a 10 year old project with 1000 commits whe

IO game is a catch all term for these types of mechanically simple, multiplayer, web-based games . The name comes from the fact that many of these games are hosted on .io domains. Well known examples are agar.io and slither.io.

This doesn't seem like tech-based enshittification. If anything, this is a low tech and super simple (albeit not as satisfying) solution to the problem of replacing pins. We need to stop using that word before it loses all meaning.
