I have the same issue, but I blame the absence of good package management. If it had that, one of the thousands of these libraries would have won out and become quasi-standard.

I'm sorry about that last quip. Don't know why I said that. Probably reminded me of some people I don't like IRL.

Social dynamics are so much more complex than this childish analysis. Misses the most important reason for swearing completely: to fine-tune the tone of the conversation. And there’s nothing special about swearing here, all words and gestur

Because my client knows how to display the data, and my server doesn't? I have a button in my app that, when clicked, sends a mutation to the server, and then changes it's display based on what the server returns. At this point, m

How are you doing tailwind with static html? If you are looking for a solution check out twind with the “shim” as a cdn import.

Thanks, very helpful. Are llama and chatGPT essentially the same “program”, just with different weights? And is one better than the other (for the same number of parameters) just because it has better weights?

I think the point is that it's not a reconstruction. It's more like recognizing which letter of a thousand-letter alphabet is shown to the human after decoding their brain waves. Still impressive, but not really as impressive as v

Again, you could ask the same question of a rock, "How can you know this rock doesn't experience anything?" Obviously I don't know. But there is no reason to think a rock would. Similarly there is no reason to think Chat

The proof of my subjective experience is my subjective experience of it, not the fact that I can complete sentences. So saying chatgpt has consciousness because it can talk is a complete non-sequitor.

Dr Searle isn’t making a mistake, behaviorists are just unbelievably stubborn. Just because you cannot measure internal experience doesn’t mean we cant talk about it. That’s just being dishonest. I also used to be a behaviorist but I grew u

Please calm down. I am in your side wrt sentience here but you are just ranting. They’ve presented a compelling argument: if we don’t have anything other than behavior to go by to gauge sentience then there is no meaningful way to say we ha

This is really really not true. Maybe 50% of coding is high-school level. A LOT of real-world coding is dealing with stuff like concurreny, cryptography, error-handling, infrastructure, synchronization, database optimizations, et etc etc. T
