I didn't have problems 1, 2 or 4 with STG - we were tiny and none of us had any assets (I don't think they even asked). We didn't try to do number 3 maybe that's the problem?

I'd like to understand more about why you think it's a 'nightmare'. I set up a merchant account with St George in 2009 for my startup at the time and the whole process was fairly straightforward and hassle free. The fees were about $50/mo

If you read the full article, you'll find this: The 5 questions civil servants should ask before contemplating asking for an exemption are: 1. Is our web service already designed to be responsive to different screen sizes? If not, why not?

This is an ARM device - may very well be a hardware or driver issue - hopefully one that can and will be fixed in a software update.

I have rolled out SSL client certificates to a client for authenticating remote users to a web-app so they could work-from-home.

Interesting point. I wonder if you can flip that around and ask if there are any otherwise obvious inventions we don't have.

Cool trick. If I ever see this in your real-world production code, you're fired.

TLDR: More fresh air is good for kids; the fact that it's cold outside is irrelevant if they have enough clothes. Well what do you know?

By that logic github allows you to use CVS, bzr, darcs, monotone, TFS, whatever other VCS exists that has a git bridge of some sort. You miss out on any benefits of using that VCS over git and you introduce a huge performance sink. Github'

Because that would require someone to invest time and money in writing malware which will only ever make it on to a handful of devices and will be removed when those devices are updated.

Yes - hardware should be designed to always provide a way to recover from any failure mode that can result from software that's running on that hardware. Even bad firmware updates should be recoverable - what happens if you lose power mid-

Quite likely it will be locked down. Even if it's not, however, I don't think Microsoft's EFI implementation will be so crap that drivers can brick the device.

That's because it's a lot harder to fuck up a few kilobytes of assembly than it is to fuck up several MB of bootloaders, device drivers, filesystem drivers, code signature verification, etc, etc, all of which are required for a complete EFI

Apple doesn't 'force' upgrades anything like what every Android vendor does. The iPhone 4 is now 2.5 years old and still happily runs iOS6 - I can't find anyone with a 2.5 year old android phone that's running current software that hasn't

What someone needs to do - ASAP - is do another one where people whose UDID's were on the list can list all the apps they've bought (it should be possible to get these out of itunes somehow) and we can use that to narrow down which ones mos
