Really only Photoshop is the big gaping hole I feel as a linux user. Gimp is just atrocious. There is a desktop webview of PhotoPea, but it's not the same.

As I understand it, .NET, developer tools, and VS. Basically you have tight OS integration vs developer friendly cross platform.

I'd have a lot more sympathy if the music industry didn't try all of the worst available options to handle piracy for years and years. They had many opportunities to get out ahead of it, and they squandered it trying to cling to a

Ya know, I was ready to downvote this (AI scraping is not my favorite) but I’m not going to. It really does have its niche - one off complex scrapes where it’s kind of questionable if it’s worth writing a scraper.

It’s interesting to see the casual slide of Google towards almost internet explorer 5.1 style behavior, where standards can just be ignored “because market share”. Having flashbacks of “<!--[if IE 6]> <script src="fix-ie6.

I did some searching around for this (not a subject matter expert). Basically the sail area grows with length squared, but ship mass and resistance grows roughly with length cubed. So propulsion gets weaker with size. To move a full sized f

Many years back was the first time I used Azure, evaluating it for a client. I remember I at one point had expanded enough menus that it covered the entirety of the screen. Never before have I felt so lost in a cloud product.

Every part of this sentence made me so sad. Your company trusts you to write code but not run code?

And oddly code bases will likely improve in quality given Claude’s recent performance. It’s like having a vindictive drunken monkey as a pair programmer.

Getting into a legal battle with oracle would be an incredibly expensive PR effort, especially as they filed and started the process without donations. $200k is absolutely not going to come close to covering their legal fees possibly in any

They did. Do you remember back in the day, when you signed up for yahoo and it asked you for all the things you were "Interested In"? That's what that was. It didn't work well. It turns out most people don't answer,
