So far, yeah. The courts shrugged and said it was allowed under current law. So the solution to that would be “change the law”.

Well, when I said “I’m curious” it was true. I’m actually curious. So how do you think a meta noai tag would be used by a hostile government? It would be something the website owner set.

Kind of curious how it would pan out, if there was a government enforced meta tag one could add to signal what the data could be used for - for example “no-ai”. That would allow people to still let Google to access their site, but restrict

I think you would be surprised by how not completely unique Obama was! The Democrats have had a number of pretty high quality, charismatic candidates, but for some reason they never receive the party backing on the national stage, at least

I think the overhiring sentiment is largely accurate, but not as it’s frequently presented. It’s not purely over hiring, it’s that many of these companies are doubling down on AI spend(in terms of model creation, hardware investment, etc),

I don’t think the choice is necessarily boring vs firebrands. Obama is a great example. He was not a firebrand, not boring, and was elected twice in a row. Charisma matters.

I call it incompetent because this style of uncharismatic beige has repeatedly failed to be elected, but keep being run in general elections. I vote for the incompetence too, it’s just very fucking frustrating.

Not at scale, what you’re seeing are a tiny tiny fraction of the potential captchas that can be thrown at you. Normally “we have seen this cookie before”, or “this browser does not have webdriver fingerprints” is sufficient to not get a cap

I have to imagine that eventually ads will be integrated in, or they will change the layout so the ads are side by side with the AI and the SERP results underneath.

I write a lot of scrapers. Both of those are pretty trivial to bypass at scale.

The Democrats reliably back the color "beige" as a candidate. Obama was different, and he won back to back. Biden succeeded, barely , because Trump was fresh in everyone's mind. But for some reason the Democrats have been a

Hey, it's not like the Chinese have a serious demographic crisis they can't cope with, and their only hope is to significantly increase productivity per worker.

I actually just got a PR from my boss's AI agent. It identified the wrong problem (surface level), and corrected it by corrupting the document data, but making it no longer throw an exception. Take that clankers

Yeah, they had an impossible to use number of credits (YC) until they expired, so every problem became a AWS solution. As an example, they needed a lot of proxy servers. Instead of just using a proxy service, there was a fleet of ec2 instan

Something that has always bothered me an outsized amount is Elasticache. I will bite the bullet and pay for RDS because it adds a lot of value - scalability, a reasonably optimized config, backups I don’t have to worry about. But Elasticach

Have seen this repeatedly also. Watched one company end up with a $250k AWS bill when their credits expired (which they could not pay).

This kind of thing has been common for ages. Obviously AI has kicked it into overdrive, but it’s not darkweb kind of stuff. Note that they do not mention any specific companies on that landing page. That is pretty intentional. But realistic

It's a weird world. I also feel pretty confident that if I was an intern who hallucinated regularly at work, I would have been fired, even if I was working for free.

It's wild to me that they don't have an Android-esque "Developer mode" that requires an obscure thing that you need to look up to see the options that can harm you (Click X times on the "Build info", etc).
