Screenshots are harder to produce, maintain and publish. I also suspect many technical authors are less “visual” so to speak, putting less emphasis on visual presentation.

The other thing that was hard to do with Lenient was to pass the thousands of tests in Babel to ensure the syntax handles every edge case.

I tried to build the braceless syntax some years back (after I worked on CoffeeScript and it mostly died): https://xixixao.github.io/lenientjs/ But this was before Prettier. The real challenge in languages now is flawl

This is super solid, but the setup in Part 1 (CL itself, Python, C, lots of steps) I think is indicative of why CL is not super popular, especially with young programmers. Which is a shame. Would be awesome if someone felt like putting in t

Most systems implement a grace period for refresh token reuse for similar reasons. Transactions don’t really solve it. (Ex: You open two tabs quickly, hitting the server with the original refresh token twice)

Yeah, but what maps the characters 1 and 0 to the numerical value 10? I bet it’s the same chain of compilation, at some point leading to an assembly compiler, and that itself leading to some proto binary implementation, maybe even going int

One minor point mentioned: I find it odd how many great PL designers I’ve known are hostile to learnings from other languages. Maybe because they field a ton of naive “why can’t A do what B does”. But languages are similar in many respects,

I find the statement quite well measured. He’s not giving a solution, that’s not easy, but is specifically calling out evidence-based measures. The statement calls out both the need to regulate, and the need to innovate. The issue is not bl

I’m working on a replacement for file coreutils (touch, cp, mv, rm) which prompt before deleting by default and have a more sane api overall. Intended for interactive use on the CLI. In Rust.

I can recommend The Terror first season series, despite its shortcomings, for a beautiful depiction of the struggle of breaking through the north passage in the mid 1800s.

Congrats on the launch. It is an “obvious” idea, in a good way. Agree that minimizing the effort in constructing the workspace will be key. I’d also love to try a sort-of 3D stack for caller/callee relationship, zooming in and out. The

In recomputer[0] I put the docs sources directly next to the relevant implementation, and also tested the examples. For this to work well (not just like an API reference), the implementation itself had to be structured well. [0] https:

Unlike you, both LLMs were familiar with geometric algebra and used the relevant terminology. Testing on something widely known isn’t likely to stretch these systems.

It’s getting there, but you can still see that certain sounds are not realistically rendered. For example V in “vengence” the bottom lip has to touch the upper teeth, but in the renderings it’s only approximated.

The scientist can understand “how” the model works, how many layers there are, that each neuron has a weight, that some are connected… Parent comment and yours show that “understanding” is a fuzzy concept.
