We build scientific software ( http://taxonworks.org/ ) where interfaces are notoriously bad. I feel the scientific community would benefit so much from a (sponsored?) program that paired game developers (or UI/UX specia

Thanks for the links, I completely concur with the goodness of everything you've raised. To clarify where I'm coming from, my use-case is (fully) offline. I want to mock the visualization in the service then get the raw, static J

Observable is fantastic, but as others have hinted at, IMO, I think it's trying to lock you in. I want the raw JS, in one click, so that I can build out a visualization locally, just hacking on HTML/JS. Steps to doing this are hig

Thanks for sharing. It's hard to find good stand-alone SVG editing libraries/engines that really focus on the back-end editing/API and not the UI (buttons, icons, etc). We've always wanted an engine that just focuses on

I think this is the key. "Just a state-machine" is a gross over-simplification. Imagine a tiny fruit-fly brain, vastly smaller than a human brain. Remarkably we can slice that brain into over 4000 pieces and try and rebuilt the

Yes. 110% attributed to learning about unit-tests and gems/CPAN in grad school. IMO there is a big fallacy about the "just get it to work" approach. Most serious scientific code, i.e. supporting months-years of research, is
