I'm a year and a half away from a Software Engineering Bachelor's, which at my school is essentially a concentration of Computer Science. We do a bit less bit-twiddling (no hardware courses) and only take the first of two Programming Langu

While I liked both Inception and Primer, I didn't feel that either was particularly confusing. I don't feel that Inception was designed to be a mindfuck; Primer was, but it fits nicely in the middle somewhere of that genre. My view is prob

This is similar to how many private BitTorrent trackers work. If someone you invited gets banned, so do you.

The main issue with reading manga on an ereader is dealing with zooming and panning; unless you have it split by panes, rather than pages, that will be an issue no matter the format.

When have you needed to use PyGame in a web application? Different tools for different things. Use 'em when appropriate. As a sidenote: from my extremely limited experience with PyGame and (Lua) Love, Love kicks PyGame's ass all over the m

While I favor Redmine at the moment, I used Roundup in a previous job and didn't hate it. It does a pretty good job of balancing simplicity and features. The only other place I've noticed Roundup being used is for Python.

I have read it, but evidently I'm misunderstanding something, either in the parent post or the PEP. Would you care to be a bit more explicit in pointing it out?

It's worth noting that Python has just one linear structure - lists* (Ruby avoids lists and just has arrays). Now, they're actually much fancier under the hood, which is why you can get away with not having a bunch of choices, but it's the

Simply because it does not fit your expectations does not mean that it makes "no logical sense at all". As faulty beings, we often have expectations that really are quite far from logical.

The concurrent.futures module looks interesting: http://docs.python.org/dev/whatsnew/3.2.html#pep-3148-the-co... I don't have much experience in that area, so I can't judge if it's as cool as I think it is. Will anyone help me out? The a

Use 3.x if you can. Use 2.x if a library you require hasn't been ported (or better, help them with it, although that's probably not a job for a self-described amateur).

And as usual, being clever in Python equates to getting yourself in trouble. Dammit, people - in Python, "That's clever" is an insult. Learn the philosophy of a language and you'll be much happier using it.

Reputation is, by and large, a measure of how time you spend on the site, much like an MMO. If you're interested in more popular technologies, you tend to have more questions to answer (and yes, more people read and upvote your answers).
